Product description
2025 Volkl BLAZE 94
The 0.3mm thick layer of titanal across the binding platform creates an impressively direct power transfer from skier movement to ski action. Keeping the titanal only under the foot creates an incredibly fun and responsive turning experience, immediately from initiation, with little effort. Although it is designed with short turn radius goals, the 4 Radius Drive Sidecut and Hybrid Multilayer Woodcore / Green Core significantly enhances the ski's liveliness and maneuverability for any turn shape. At only a very low weight and with the addition of the Suspension Tip and Tail (basically a rubbery “bumper” for whatever the ski comes in contact with), it is a fantastic touring ski as well. Regardless of resort skiing glory, off piste endeavors, or backcountry objectives, the Blaze 94 offers an incredibly wide range of use in all conditions.
PRODUCT FEATURES
4 RADIUS DRIVE:
A Völkl innovation not yet offered by any other manufacturer. With this technology, Völkl sets a new benchmark for the ability to vary the turn radius and combine easy handling with rock-solid stability. This new design provides maximum versatility for various snow conditions both on piste and off piste, increased stability on hard surfaces, and improved performance on soft snow. Radius 1: Approx. 20 m in the frontmost 10 centimeters A tighter radius only in the shovel to achieve a more immediate response to the skier‘s initial edge movement; maximum precision and agility Radius 2: Approx. 40 m in the area between the shovel and the binding The open radius in the front part of the ski gives the ski more resistance to disturbances and stability at speed Radius 3: Approx. 15 m in the area under the binding The tight radius in the camber area provides the ski with more agility even with slight edge movements of the skier, ensuring the necessary buildup of dynamics for short turns and radical carving curves. Radius 4: Approx. 25 meters in the area behind the binding up to the ski end The moderate radius at the ski end ensures controlled and situation-adapted dynamics at the end of the turn and provides optimal support for transitioning into the next curve.
HYBRID MULTILAYER WOODCORE 1:
A particularly light and complex wood core specially developed for touring skis. In the area around the steel edges, a poplar wood hand-picked by weight provides the necessary stability, while in the center of the ski, the soft and light Paulownia wood ensures the ski's flexibility. In the binding area beech wood provides the strength, which is needed to hold the screws of the binding. In the center of the core, a CNC-milled Isocore area contributes to optimal liveliness and dynamic development. Only the lightest batch of each wood delivery makes it into these cores.
BASE P-TEX 2100:
A sintered high-density and high molecular polyethylene base with great gliding characteristics and high durability
FULL SIDEWALL:
Direct and strong powertransmission with full length sidewalls.
TITANAL BINDING PLATFORM:
A thin Titanal layer (0,3 mm) under the binding delivers the necessary strength to the ski. This way the binding screws offer reliable hold even in the toughest conditions.
TIP & TAIL ROCKER:
Character: Bends up only in the shovel and tail zones, with a camber shape in the middle
SUSPENSION TIPS & TAILS:
Inserts made of elastic TPU material on the edges of the tip and tail which act like a bumper in wind-blown or tracked snow. Its shock-absorbing elasticity ensures better stability and catch-free float.
3D.GLASS:
Compared to classic glass constructions the three-dimensional and multiple-folded glass layers in the tip and in the tail area result in an increased edge grip and a more vivid rebound behavior in turns. 1 3D.GLASS IS INTEGRATED IN THE TIP AND TAIL OF THE SKI // flat glass under the binding making the center softer // variable turning at any speed 2 GLASS ABOVE THE SIDEWALL //providing additional support for superior edge grip on icy slopes 3 VERTICAL GLASS IN TIP & TAIL AREA //more pop for faster edge to edge changes
GREEN CORE:
// All GreenCore woods are FSC certified // Environmentally friendly glue // Foam: recycled PET
If you enjoy hitting the biggest features in the park, aggressively carving high speed precision turns, and taking the steepest lines you can find, you will probably benefit from the features of an advanced - expert ski. These skis will be engineered with power, stiffness, and rigidity in mind. You will likely find layered construction with materials like carbon, metal and stiffer woods.
All Mountain
An all mountain ski is engineered to be dependable in most terrains you have in mind. This could include heavy snow, steeps, font-side groomers, ice, and powder. If you have one ski in your quiver, this would be a good choice.
Rocker / Camber / Rocker
A rocker/camber/rocker profile has both the playfulness and float of a rockered ski while adding the edge hold of a cambered ski. This profile moves the front and rear contact points medial, but still not under your boot. A rocker/camber/rocker profile is excellent for an all mountain ski, giving you float in deeper snow and crud, with a good edge hold on piste.
